Ḥemmad d agellid ɣef temdint n Lqelqɛa d tudrin i as-d-izzin. Qqaren-d xas akken iwɛer nezzeh, iḥemmel-it uɣref-is imi iḥkem s lḥaq. Tamdint n Lqelɛa tuɣal d tamaneɣt, ttasen-d si yal tama ad zṛen agellid neɣ akken ad d-qḍun kra.

Yiwen wass, yiwen umɣar iruḥ d tmeṭṭut-is si taddart-nsen ɣer temdint n Lqelɛa. Tameṭṭut-is meẓẓiyet aṭas fell-as, tezyen d ayen kan, anda tɛedda ad as-d sḍefren tamuɣli. Wehmen akk lɣaci amek teqbel tuɣ amɣar. Deg ubrid, mlalen-d yiwen n yilemẓi iteddu ula d netta ɣer temdint n Lqelɛa. Dduklen, kemlen abrid akken. Mi leḥḥun, ilemẓi-nni iɛcaq tameṭṭut-nni n umɣar. Nettat, daɣen si tama-s tebɣa-t, iɛjeb-as. Ad as-tinniḍ ixdem-as kra n sḥur. Amɣar izwar, ǧǧan-t ileḥḥu weḥd-s. Tameṭṭut-nni-ines teggra d yilemẓi-nni ɣer deffir, leḥḥun-d akken ttemyeḥkun, ttqessiṛṛen, ttaḍsan. Mi as-yenna umɣar rwaḥ ɣur-i d nekk i d argaz-im, nettat teqqar-as kan ruḥ kemmel abrid-ik, tura d ilemẓi-agi i d argaz-iw ! Ilemẓi d tameṭṭut mmeslayen, msefhamen ad rren iman-nsen myezwaǧen: netta si tama-s ad yerr iman-is d argaz-is n leḥlal; nettat si tama-s ad terr iman-is d ilemẓi-nni i d argaz-is, ad tenkeṛ argaz-nni n tidet. Mi wwḍen imsebriden ɣer temdint n At Ḥemmad, amɣar-nni izwar irra srid ɣer sselṭan Ḥemmad icekta fell-asen. Iḥka-as akk ayen i as-xedmen deg ubrid. Ṣelṭan iwhem d acu-t ẓur icban wa i d-iḍran di teqbilt-is. Yenna-as i umɣar: ‘’ qqim dagi tura iffeɣ-ik uɣbel’’. Imiren kan, ifka lameṛ ad d-awin ilemẓi d tmeṭṭut-nni ad d-mqabalen nutni d umɣar. Wwin-ten di sin yid-sen, bedden sdat n Ḥemmad. Inṭeq ɣer tmeṭṭut-nni yenna-as : ‘’ i kemm, anwa i d argaz-im n leḥlal, d amɣar-a neɣ d ilemẓi-a ?’’ Terra-as: ‘’anɛam a Sidi Ḥemmad, nekk yiwen n urgaz i sɛiɣ d ilemẓi-agi akked i d-ddukleɣ i d argaz-iw, ma da ur iyi-tumineḍ ara, steqsi-t netta d acu ara ak-id-yini. Ayen akk i ak-id-yenna umɣar-inna d lekdeb’’. Ḥemmad iluɛa ilemẓi-nni yenna-as : ‘’i kečč ay ilemẓi ! D tidet akka, d tagi i d tameṭṭut-ik n leḥlal ?’’ Yenna-as ilemẓi-nni : ’’ wwah a Sidi ṣelṭan! D tameṭṭut-iw n leḥlal, yili da d-neddukkel akken ɛinani, sdat akk lɣaci. Ur smeḥsis ara i umɣar-inna n lǧihenema, yeskiddib’’. Ilemẓi d tmeṭṭut ṭṭfen deg wawal-nsen, akken mmsefhamen. Tin-a ad tini d ilemẓi i d argaz-is, winn-a si tama-s ad yini d tagi i d tameṭṭut-is. Ad d-cehden di sin belli d amɣar i yeskiddiben. Yezzi Ḥemmad ɣer umɣar, inna-as : ‘’i kečč ay amɣar tzemreḍ ad d-tawiḍ kra n ttbut swayes ara d-tbeggneḍ ayen ara d-teqqareḍ ! Yella wid d-iddan yid-wen deg ubrid ?’’ Yerra-as-id umɣar : ‘’ulac a Sidi win d-iddan yid-neɣ nniḍen ala aqjun-a.’’ Amɣar yunez ɣer tmurt akken ad d-isken aqjun-is ibedden sdat-s. Imiren kan Ḥemmad tusa-as-id tikti. Isendeh ixeddamen-is ad qqnen aqjun-nni ɣer tzanet i illan din. Syin, issendah tameṭṭut-nni ad as-d-tefsi i uqjun. Tameṭṭut tuɣ awal truḥ tefsi-as-d i uqjun. Syin, akin, isendeh-itt tikkelt nniḍen ad t-teqqen. Tameṭṭut tessawel i uqjun, iruḥ-d teqqen-it ɣer tzanat-nni. Imiren, izzi ɣer yilemẓi-nni inna-as: ‘’ kker keččini xdem akka i texdem tmeṭṭut-a. Bru i uqjun, ssyin qqen-it.’’ Ilemẓi iqerreb ad as-d-ibru, aqjun ibda assegelf-d fell-as am wakken ur t-issin ara, am wakken d abeṛṛani. Ḥemmad ifaq s yilemẓi iskaddeb. Iluɛa tameṭṭut-nni, yenna-as: ‘’d amɣar-a i d argaz-im n leḥlal! Tbeddeleḍ-t kan s yilemẓi-agi. D kemm i iskeddiben !’’ Tameṭṭut, teṭṭerḍeq d imeṭṭi, tuɣal ɣef wudem tesudun iḍarren n Ḥemmad, tessutur deg-s s wannuz ad as-yeɛfu. ‘’Kker syina’’ i as-yenna Ḥemmad, ruḥ ad tedduḍ d umɣar-inna. Limmer mačči d tameṭṭut i telliḍ akked umɣar-agi iyi-ɣaḍen, yili ad igzem uqeṛṛu-m am yilemẓi-a. Urzen ilemẓi-nni, wwin-t ɣer lḥebs.
